While the T1sl is Litespeed’s signature lightweight frame it’s no one-trick pony. Adept at carving corners and holding speed on the flats, the T1sl is a no-holds-barred race machine that happens to defy the scales, thanks to decades of our titanium expertise. And for the discerning cyclist, titanium still reigns supreme as the king of lightweight race bike capability. At 995 grams in size small, the T1sl remains the lightest production handmade titanium frame available on the market.
How do they make a performance race frame this strong, stiff, comfortable and light is what sets the T1sl apart from all others. It starts with an innovative top tube, handcrafted from a single sheet of aerospace-grade 6AL/4V titanium, shaped into a multi-faceted tapered tube that slashes weight while increasing torsional stiffness.
The T1sl frame stays race-day stiff with a pair of oversized, triple-butted asymmetric chainstays designed for unyielding power transfer. The downtube completes the package, oversized and bi-axially ovalized to provide optimal performance and stiffness. At the front, a beautifully engraved 44mm headtube delivers precision handling. With a PF30 bottom bracket, the T1sl compatible with nearly every crankset available. The T1sl accepts caliper brakes only.
To ensure every T1sl is built to precision tolerances that ensure the perfect ride in every size, each frame has size-specific tubesets, guaranteeing consistent performance, regardless if you’re a size XS or XL. We also use the highest-quality titanium available, with our cold-working making it even better. While our competition settles for softer, more easily-processed grades of titanium, we go above and beyond to deliver the most premium cycling-specific tubesets. One of our highly experienced pro-bike specialist mechanics will build your bike, then test ride it in the parking lot to verify everything works flawlessly. We will then remove the rear wheel, seat post, and front stem plate for shipping. Your bike will be packed for shipment in a manner that fully eliminates any possibility of arriving to you in less than perfect condition. Once you have your new bike, simply install the front wheel, slide in the seat-post/seat, and attach the stem front plate. You will be ready to ride or race in minutes.
The selection of the correct size frame (and stem, bars, cranks, etc.) is a crucial aspect of the road-bike buying experience.
We will contact you once you have placed your order to discuss and verify the sizes of each item that you need. Once you receive your new bike, ride it for a week or two and verify that you are comfortable with your chosen stem length, bar width, and crank length. If not, you may exchange any of these items for another size, as long as they are returned in as-new condition. (As-new, meaning: unblemished in any way other than bar-tape residue, pedal installation marks on the cranks, etc.) We will then rush you the size that you desire of the item, and sell the returned item as a test-ridden item at our retail store. If desired, we will provide a full comprehensive bike fitting free with any bike purchase. We work with the sizing system from of our favorite full-custom frame builder, Moots. Just go to moots.com and print out their highly comprehensive sizing questionnaire (with very detailed, easy-to-use instructions and pictures.)
